As the name suggests, the tail on the White-tailed Jack Rabbit is in fact white. Their gray coloration emphasizes brown or yellow hues depending on season and habitat. Their large ears help detect predators and even help cool its body temperature in hot weather. The White-tailed Jack Rabbit are nocturnal as they feed from dusk to dawn and eat grasses, shrubs, and other plants depending on availability.
