The Striped Skunk's names is derived from the distinct white stripes on the black back of the skunk. They can be found in woodlands, forests, grasslands, and urbanized areas. The Striped Skunk can secrete a fluid spray with a strong stench to detour intruders. They are mainly solitary and nocturnal and they hunt for insects and small mammals alone at night.
