Mountain Lions have a golden brown coat with striking eyes and white around the eyes, nose, ears, and underside. This large cat can weigh between 64-264 lbs depending on gender and food availability. As a primarily solitary species, Mountain Lions hunt deer, elk, moose, caribou and smaller mammals on their own. Despite their name, they live in a range of different habitats including forests, swamps, brush, and areas of dense vegetation.

There has been no direct sighting of a Mountain Lion at either SNARL or Valentine Camp. However, there has been killed deer evidence of Mountain Lions present.
