As the name states, the Gray Fox is primarily gray with rust markings along the chest, legs, and ears and black marking on the tip of the tail and around the eyes. Living in forests, brush, and woodland habitats, Gray Foxes hunt for cottontails, small rodents, fruit and invertebrates. They are mostly nocturnal and solitary animals and can be prey to golden eagles, owls, bobcats and other animals.
