The Douglas Squirrel boasts a muted burnt-orange underside and along the ears with grey-brown pelage decorating the rest of the body. Living in coniferous forest habitats and elevations from sea level to over 3,000 meters, they can be found eating pine seeds. Their diet also includes fungi, twigs, sap, acords, fruits, and even arthropods.
