Native to North America, the coyote has markings of tan, light gray, black, and rust splatterd throughout its fur. The Coyote is smaller than its close wolf relatives and lives in a wide range of habitats from grasslands, sagebrush, deserts, and forests as just a few. Their calls and howls can be heard at night as they are the most vocal animal of all North American wild animal. Coyotes are carnivores eating primarily other mammals such as rabbits, squirrels and mice.
