Found in sagebrush, deserts, prairies, fields, and meadows, Prairie Falcons hover low to the ground to catch prey of small mammals, birds, and insects. When flying, you can see the beige, black, and white pattern on the underside of the falcon's wings and body, Prairie Faclons can be found in grasslands, shrub deserts, alpine habitats, and along bluffs and cliffs where they nest on. Feeding on mainly small mammals, birds, and insects, they can be found stooping low to the ground searching for prey. Prairie Falcons have also been observed as they are playing. They have been seen dropping dried cow manure in flight then rushing down to catch it midair.
