SpatulaThese dabbling ducks have a large spoon-shaped bill to aid its feeding. The large bill has about 110 lamellae along the edges to sift out tiny crustaceans, seeds, and invertabrates. The female has a spotted brown plumage and a orange beak and the breeding males have bright green heads, burnt orange side plumage with bright yellow eyes.
