This small-headed swallow can be found foraging in the air above the water searching for small insects. The Northern Rough-winged Swallow's long wings help it maneuver through the air to catch insects. Typically burrowing in vacant cavaties in cliffs, gutters, and walls, the Northern Rough-winged Swallow can be found breeding in most of the United States.
