A mix between chartreuse and olive-green streak of feathers on the tail, give clout to the name of the Green-tailed Towhee. Search for this species within habitats dominated by schrubs and even scattered trees or cacti. They can be found on the ground searching for seed and nesting within dense shrub. 

VESR falls within the breeding zone of the Green-tailed Towhee.
