Black Phoebe

Sayornis nigricans

Looking as if dressed in a tuxedo, Black Phoebe birds are covered in black feathers and a crisp white underbelly. You can spot them near water sources flying back and forth from thier perch hunting for flying insects. They are closely linked to water sources as to build thier nests they require mud. Despite almost entirely consuming insects, Black Phoebe's have been observed grabbing minnows from shallow water surfaces for food.
