The Black-crowned Night Heron are highly active at night or dusk and are found throughout a large part of the world living in fresh, salt, and brackish water feeding on fish. They often nest in groups with other Black-crowned Night-Herons and groups of other species too. The Black-crowned Night Heron have also been observed to utilize bait fishing to lure in prey within their striking range.
